People

The FIELD Trip Lab is led by Dr. Catherine Dornfeld Tissenbaum, an assistant professor of Curriculum & Instruction at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her advisees include:

  • McKenna Lane, a fifth-year PhD student and instructional designer with the Natural History Museum of Utah who is studying the design of standards-aligned, scaffolded learning experiences for K-12 use.
  • Emma Kirby, a third-year PhD student with expertise in anthropology who is studying the use of technology in informal learning environments. 
  • Annie McClellan, a second-year PhD student and former teacher who is studying teacher retention. 

Internal collaborators include Dr. Mónica González Ybarra and Dr. Idalia Nuñez. External collaborators include Dr. Stina Krist (Stanford); Heather Coyle and Peggy Doty (U of I Extension); Rachel Storm, Kamila Glowacki, and Ishita Dharap (Krannert Art Museum); and the Urbana School District #116.
